"The concert in connection to the location was absolutely amazing. I’ve never been to the Stone Nest in
Chinatown before, and the modern opera of Bartok was well suited for this beautiful location. The singers
gave it their all and altogether it was a very enjoyable evening."

"Such a poignant and relevant take on "This was my first experience of an opera by
Bluebeard's Castle which was so unbelievably Bartok. I was familiar with the voices of Gerald
effective. It gave the piece such relevance and Finley and Susan Bullock. The intimate setting
relatability to the world we live in." was a rare treat. I would go again."

"This re-imagination of Bluebeard's Castle works on every level. The locked rooms of the castle are
interpreted here as brief periods of lucid recall in the mind of a woman suffering from dementia. Bluebeard
is her loving, anguished husband and carer. Each unlocked door reveals a different period in their family
history, as Judith, the wife, moves from youth to age, through courtship, marriage, childrearing and the loss
of a child. As three different actresses, all excellent, portray Judith at different stages of her life.it becomes
a powerful and moving depiction of love, loss, ageing and approaching death. The drastically reduced score
is powerful, beautifully played by players of London Sinfonietta, and the singing and acting from a stellar
cast is superb. The vast, mysterious and dilapidated space of Stone Nest is the perfect setting for this small
polished jewel hewn from Bartok's larger gem. An amazing and immersive experience all-round."
