In Bobcaygeon, Ontario, a man named Jason Rioux lives off-grid in
a 1,450 sq ft cabin called the “Octopod,” which he built using seven
adjoining containers (arranged to create a central courtyard space,
hence the name) and outfitted with solar panels.
And in Vancouver, a stacked three-story complex of container
apartments was recently completed as a unique answer to the city’s call
for increased low-income housing.
