Task 8. Situation Analysis / Best Practices Report
- Here we will draw all of the data collection inputs together to undertake a Situation Analysis Report
- This will contain the following sections:
- Summary results of all data collection activities (as described
above)
- A Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT)
assessment of the museum operation in the community
- Preliminary suggestions as to best practices for community
engagement strategies that could be pursued
- At this point we envisage that the Best Practices report would be an approximately 20 to 30-page document

Task 9. Steering Committee Meeting
- We will convene a special Steering Committee meeting to discuss the findings and preliminary conclusions contained within the Best Practices report

Phase 2: Museum Physical Layout, Artifact Display and Program Plan
Task 10. Effectiveness Assessment of Current Physical Layout
- In this task we will conduct an assessment of the effectiveness of the current physical layout of the museum and the various artifact displays, in the context of the various
- This assessment will consider the following elements: - Visitor flow and wayfinding
- Themes and story-lines presented
- Effectiveness assessment of existing exhibits
- Potential new themes and exhibits that could be portrayed - Optimum use of technology
- In the context of this assessment we will also examine the collections policy, and the current collection (including conservation and storage considerations), as the collection provides the basis for exhibits
- we will also examine in this context the exhibitions policy and the types of exhibitions developed

Task 11. Programs and Services Review
- We will examine the various programs and services offered by the Museum (looking in particular at the 2019 [pre-pandemic] programs and services offered by the Museum, as well as 2020 on- line offering
- In light of the review of previous offerings and the input from the interviews and surveys undertaken in the first phase, we will suggest any programs and services that are recommended to continue or develop in future

Task 12. Physical Layout, Artifact Display and Program Plan Report
- Here we will develop a report outlining the recommendations relating to physical layout, collections, exhibits and displays, and programs & activities in a phase 2 report
