Let’s Walk To Find A Cure

TLOD Chapters, mark your calendars!!!
The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America (SCDAA) has announced the date of its 4th Annual National Sick-
le Cell Walk with the Stars (WWTS). The Walk will be held on August 26, 2017 in Baltimore’s Canton Water-
front Park. The WWTS is SCDAA's largest event dedicated to finding better treatments and a cure for sickle cell
disease, and to preventing the complications of this disorder through awareness, advocacy and research. As
WWTS enter its fourth year, it is the only 5k benefiting sickle cell disease on a national level, creating more oppor-
tunities of impact for their 43 chapters across the United States. Last year SCDAA raised over $130,000! This
year, with your help, they're taking SCD and SCT awareness to the next level with a goal of $200,000!!!!
SCDAA has invited TLOD to increase our level of advocacy by having our National Chair serve on the WWTS
Committee (a six-month commitment) and having our TLOD Chapters jointly participate in the National Walk.

ing the event.
