Burnest and Gwendolyn Carter, Sharon Gillum, Dorothy Kirby, Patsy Jackson, Ruth Smith, Lord Samuel Kirby,
Teens Keshanna and Keshawn Hawkins, Jeremiah and Joshua Milton, and Robert Watson.

There were also chapters from the TLOD Southwest Cluster members in attendance, supporting the Prairie View
Chapter. They are Lady Regina Dickson, National Editor of the Crown, National Editor of the Newsletter - The
Scepter and the Spring-Cypress Chapter Organizer, Lady Mildred Robinson, Suburban Bayou City Chapter Presi-
dent, Lady Bessie Fletcher, Lady Kathy Thibodeaux, Lady JoBeth Harris, and Lady Carolyn Clemons from the
Suburban Bayou City Chapter and Lady Barbara Smith, Humble Intercontinental Chapter President and more.

Spring-Cypress Chapter, partnered with the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. (NCNW)- Hou-

ston Metropolitan Area Section and the Houston Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Alumni
Association, to host a S.T.E.A.M. Youth Summit. and College Fair.

There were two panels of speakers with a question and answer session. The first panel of speakers presented ex-
citing careers in the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. The speakers were Dr Ka-
ren Jacobs (Science), Dr. Carolyn Lightfoot (Technology), Lady Tori Cole (Engineering), Karyn Mason (Arts) and
Jared Lee (Math). The second panel of speakers were representatives from colleges and university discussing the
benefits and experience of an education from a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). The repre-
sentatives were from Alabama A&M University, Texas Southern University, Prairie View A&M University, South-
ern University and A&M College, and Johnson C. Smith University.

In addition the youth summit’s guest speaker was medical Dr. Tosin Fatusin a graduate of Cypress Spring High
School, Baylor University of Waco, Texas, John Hopkins University School of Medicine and concluded her medi-
cal training with an advanced imaging fellowship from Harvard University/Boston Children’s Hospital. She is
currently serving as an Assistant professor in Pediatric Cardiology at Baylor University/Texas Children Hospital.

Those in attendance were members of the Spring-Cypress Chapter Top Teens of America and Top Ladies of Dis-
tinction, Inc, including youth from various Top Teens of America Chapters, church youth groups and youth from
various schools in the surrounding Houston and Spring-Cypress areas. Due to the large number of gift cards do-
nated for this event, gift cards were given to every youth in attendance. The sponsors for this event was HEB,
Chick-fil-a, Emotional Inner Change Counseling, Creative Expression and Bayway Lincoln.
