           Manual Transmission and Transfer CaseFluids
Unlike A TF fluids, manual transmission and transfer case fluids are formulated primarily to cool and lubricate the system. The fluids are typically splash fed onto frictional component surfaces by the gears.
Interval-based Recommendations:
OEM and aftermarket article recommendations for manual transmission and transfer case fluids commonly ranged from 15,000 to 60,000 miles. The largest exception to the range is the 2005 GM Silverado, which recommends an interval of 150,000 miles on the Silverado’ s manual transmission.
Condition-based Recommendations:
Limited information was available condition based lubricant change as the practice seems to be rarely applied. The transfer case and the manual transmission lubricants are gear oils. In general, the limits below are observed by laboratory testing facilities:

           Differential Fluids
Similar to transfer case fluids, the front and rear differentials are also splash lubricated. However, differential gear lubricants are usually more viscous and contain roughly twice the additive load compared to manual transmission and transfer case fluids since they are exposed to higher loads/slower speeds.
