                    AN: is used before a vowel sound


            An uncle           An apartment                An apple


            NOTE: Some words that begin with a consonant letter in
            writing have a vowel sound:


            Hour /ˈaʊə(r)/              → An hour

            MP3 player /ˌem piː ˈθriː/  → An MP3 player
