them, Jerusalem emerges as never shown before; as a font of medical knowledge that
developed in the ancient city and led to the beginnings of Israeli medicine and extending
throughout the world.
To a large extent, the exhibition symbolizes the Tower of David’s role as the museum of the
city of Jerusalem. The museum is the gateway to the city and a platform for continuous new
research and discussion. It offers an invitation to embark on the infinite journey towards
understanding the world’s most fascinating city.
It gives me great pleasure to thank Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. for providing funding
for the exhibition.
We continue to be indebted to the Ministry of Culture and Sport, the Jerusalem Municipality,
the Jerusalem Foundation, and the Clore Foundation for their unfailing support of the Tower
of David Museum.
