FLOW SERVICE
COVERAGE
BROADENED
SPX Flow has appointed a new service partner in Australia to complement existing service coverage and improve service response time.
As a supplier of engineered flow components for food and beverage processing equipment for products such as milk, yoghurt and infant formula, SPX Flow is beefing up its continuous service improvement program with a new partnership with FDPI Spares & Maintenance.
Family-owned, Victorian-based FDPI is a growing business with expertise in liquid processes within the dairy, food and beverage industries with extensive service expertise
on heat exchangers, separators, homogenisers, pumps, and valves with 24/7 accessibility.
“FDPI is already a rapidly growing business because of the quality of service and expertise it has in-house. We believe this is the start of a strong, strategic partnership that will offer real value and benefits for our customers in the region,” SPX Flow ANZ food and beverage aftermarket leader Nicholas Patel said.
The new partnership will include the provision of original SPX Flow spare parts and FDPI engineers will be fully trained and certified to provide service on key SPX Flow equipment brands including APV, Waukesha Cherry-Burrell
and Seital Separators.
ROBUST FLOW METER
NEW features have been introduced for Bronkhorst IN-FLOW mass flow meters and controllers supplied by AMS Instrumentation
& Calibration. The robust instruments,
designed to be dustproof and waterproof in accordance with IP65 standard, are available for flow ranges from 0,05-1 mln/min up to 200-10000 m3n/h air-equivalent.
With its wide range of digital metering and control devices in use in the food and beverage industry, Bronkhorst is also making a new PROFINET fieldbus interface on its industrial mass flow meters and controllers for gases.
With a comprehensive scope of functions, the
flexible architecture of PROFINET enables
cost-saving machine automation and it can be
quickly commissioned due to its open access and defined interfaces and optimal diagnostics of devices as well as the network.
AMS also distributes biogas flow meters from Fluid Components International (FCI) designed for potentially hazardous biogas processes in food processing plants.
FCI’s thermal mass ST51A biogas flow meters are made for fermentation systems for dairy products or wineries and breweries, as well as on-farm manure and sewage treatment plants, measuring the output of valuable biogas.
TANK CLEANING SOLUTIONS
SPRAY Nozzle Engineering is introducing a new expanded range of tank cleaning nozzles that are designed to be safer to use and more hygienic.
The new M-Series range has more materials options with nozzle heads offered in a variety of materials, including PVDF and PTFE. A choice of material for a nozzle head means that it can be matched to most cleaning, heat or chemical concentrations.
Other updated technological inclusions are a design that excludes ball bearings to rotate the head, using cleaning fluid instead for more reliable results.
This is being called a major advantage over outdated technology in tank cleaning, as ball bearing races can become blocked with material from a tank, resulting in bacteria concentrations or nozzle heads that stop spinning.
New Zealand and Australia manufacturer and exporter of tank cleaning nozzles, Spray Nozzle Engineering said M-Series nozzle heads are suited to either rinsing or cleaning various-size tanks and are available in three connection sizes.
LONGER LIFE
PACKAGING
SOLUTIONS
A NEW range of aseptic bags from Jet Technologies has been designed to lengthen the lifespan of foods such as fruit puree, dairy, wine, and jams.
The aseptic packaging is a bacteria-free multi-barrier option, which allows the non-refrigerated storage and distribution of food products while retaining long- term product quality in ambient temperatures, according to
Daniel Malki, general manager
of Jet Technologies.
“Aseptic packaging is a growing market for Australia due to its volume efficiency, lower footprint and high multi-barrier properties for longer asset preservation, which reduces the requirement for preservatives in foods,” Malki said.
The aseptic bags are fully certified and have customisable filling sizes, the company claims, and are available with different spout types to suit individual needs: one-inch spouts for juices, concentrates, pastes and pulp, and two and three-inch spouts for diced food products.
According to Malki, aseptic packaging is a good solution for seasonal products that experience consistent year-round demand.
“This is because it offers an option for products such as fruit to be stored longer and drip fed out onto the production line at regular intervals to meet ongoing demand, rather than needing to be packaged ready for distribution when the ingredients are in season,” he says. “It can also be used for batch storage.”
