NEW COVERAGE FOR CONVEYORS
A NEW drum cover made from breathable material makes for a cleaner and safer work environment on air-operated conveyors.
Exair’s latest drum cover is fabricated from a fine mesh non-woven material that is designed for use on 205 litre or 60 litre drums.
It allows air from an Exair Line Vac air-operated conveyors to circulate whether material is moving in or out of a drum.
Suitable for conveyance hoses from 19mm up through a 86.4mm outside diameter, the drum cover prevents contamination of material and is a simple solution when transferring scrap, trim, waste, parts, chips or pellets into containment vessels.
Line Vac conveyors and Exair drum covers are distributed by Compressed Air Australia.

STEAM INFUSION
TECHNOLOGY FOR
AUSTRALIA
Food tech company OAL is partnering with Process Plant Network (PPN) to bring an award-winning steam infusion technology to Australian food and beverage manufacturers.
OAL’s Steam Infusion Vaction Pump technology has been available in the United Kingdom for over 15 years and
is now available in Australia from PPN, one of Australia’s major providers of food machinery and services.
The new steam infusion technology uses a processing device called a Vaction Unit to deliver steam to simultaneously heat, mix and pump ingredients in a cooking vessel or directly in-line.
OAL says the new technology will help Australian food manufacturers increase their cooking capacity as well as eliminate burn-on and Maillard reactions to achieve faster, more efficient cooking to a range of products, including soups, sauces and ready meals.
The new Steam Infusion Vaction Pump is also said to help reduce fat in dairy products by up to 20 per cent as well as create a creamier mouthfeel while at the same time achieving reduced cleaning
and cooking times and lowering energy consumption. A steam infusion cooking lance can be retrofitted easily into new or existing cooking vessels, or fitted directly into the line, and it typically achieves twice the cooking capacity.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to partner with PPN. We had long wanted to enter the Australian market but hadn’t been able to find the right fit to offer customers the best possible on-the-ground support,” OAL sales and innovation director
Jake Norman said.
A NEW NSF food-grade bio-degreaser has been released by CRC Industries which expands its Greenlight Food Safety Program range. The A1-rated bio-degreaser is an extra heavy-duty cleaner scientifically formulated for use in food processing applications to penetrate and dissolve grease, oil and contaminants easily and safely.
“At CRC we understand the food industry, whether growing, producing,
processing or packaging,
requires the most stringent conformity of compliance,” CRC Industries Australia managing director Shona Fitzgerald said.
Biodegradable, non-toxic, non-hazardous, non-flammable, pH balanced and water soluble, the CRC bio-degreaser is also non-abrasive, non-corrosive and solvent-free.
The product can be used on all metals and alloys including aluminium and brass and is safe for use on fibreglass, glass, plastics,
rubber, painted surfaces and laminates. “It can be used to quickly and
effectively clean mechanical equipment motors, tools, benches, walls, floors, filters, grills, drills, grinders, rollers, dies, moulds (injection, plastic, steel, aluminium), chains, conveyors, wire rope, robotics, hoists and more,” Fitzgerald said.
It’s available in 5L and 20L bulk containers and a 750mL trigger pack.
AUSSIE COMPANY EXPORTS MASSIVE HEAT EXCHANGER
AUSTRALIAN-BASED, family-owned company Teralba Industries has designed and manufactured a giant heat exchanger to be used for cooling crushed grapes in a California-based winery.
Teralba Industries designs and fabricates Dimplelfo heat exchangers used primarily in wineries for cooling crushed grapes (must) during vintage.
Dimplelfo must chillers are also produced in a wide variety of lengths and diameters to suit the varying range of wineries in terms of throughput and crushing capacity. The most recent build to come out of its Sydney manufacturing plant is the largest Dimplelfo Teralba has made for grape must chilling and the company believes
it is the largest capacity system in the world. This colossal heat exchanger, consisting of 20 Dimplelfo modules each 12 metres long, can
cool 150 tonnes/hr of crushed grapes from 35°C down to 10°C, in a single pass. When a reduced temperature drop was required, the Dimpleflo achieved 250 tonnes/hour.
