SPRAY SAVIOUR FOR TOOL RUST
CORTEC is meeting the demands of mould, tool and die manufacturers, developing the EcoAir Tool & Die Rust Preventative aerosol to protect tooling assets during shipping, storage and transport.
The vegetable oil based, non-flammable spray was originally tailored for a large U.S. tool and die manufacturer looking to eliminate the possibility of corrosion on a 18 tonne plastic-injection mold during its six week shipment to Europe.
The EcoAir preventative was sprayed on the internal surfaces of the mould’s two-cavity automotive interior to ensure corrosion protection, as well as water displacement and cleaning properties for any process-related fluids remaining on the mould.
Unlike traditional rust preventatives that need solvent-based removers to be cleaned off the mould, Cortec’s EcoAir spray does not need to be removed, reducing both labour and hazardous waste disposal.
The EcoAir Tool & Die Rust Preventative can also be used to clean grease, oils and adhesives off metal surfaces, displace moisture and preserve all types of carbon or alloy-based products for up to 24 months indoors.
NEW INSPECTION SYSTEM MEETS 3A DAIRY STANDARDS
A new x-ray inspection system has been released by Eagle Product Inspection to specifically address challenges for the dairy industry.
The Eagle Pack 400 HC is a hygienic x-ray system designed to meet 3A dairy standards, Eagle regional sales manager Dave Lemanski says. It is ideal for harsh washdown environments and can inspect dairy products packaged in plastic containers, cartons/boxes and pouches to find and reject contaminants such as glass shards, dense plastic and rubber pieces, metal fragments and mineral stone.
“The system can look for everything from different pieces of metals or glass that may have become embedded in the product, to discovering if a slice of cheese
is broken, to finding seal integrity issues that can lead to spoilage.” The multifunctional system helps dairy manufacturers

KAESER ADDS MOBILE QUIET COMPRESSORS
Air compression manufacturer Kaeser Compressors has added two larger models to its Mobilair e-power, portable compressor range, created for use in low emission and noise protection areas.
The M250E and M255E models have
a drive output of 132 kW and 160kW, respectively, and deliver exhaust-free and quiet compressed air production, wherever an electrical power connection is available.
In a statement from Kaeser Compressors, the drive units of these portable compressors run on an energy- efficient IE4 electric motor, as well as a Sigma Profile screw compressor block that has “consistently proven itself in industrial rotary screw compressors”.
The new systems are designed for outdoor installations and are built to move quickly from one place to another, including galvanised skids with forklift slots, fitted as standard, and a crane lifting eye designed to assist when loading and unloading.
Supplied as standard, the aftercooler with centrifugal separator extracts moisture from the air while the systems also have an optional filter installed within the body of the unit for oil-free compressed air.
The M250E and M255E are supplied by Kaeser Compressors’ Australian operations in Victoria.

JUMBO SOLUTION FOR LIFTING LOADS
improve efficiency and productivity by conducting important quality checks like fill level, mass measurement
and seal inspection to locate food trapped in seals, as well as cap or closure placement. Manufacturers can also use the system to determine if there are any voids within products like blocks of cheese.
For Lemanski, it means Eagle can give customers the percentage of accuracy for the
weight of their product, “it’s real money they are
giving away”. There is real value in that for a dairy company that could be underfilling or overfilling a canisters, Lemanski says.
VACUUM automation and ergonomic handling manufacturer Schmalz has introduced the Jumbo Low-Stack to its Jumbo portfolio of vacuum tube lifters. It includes configuration capabilities for its lifting unit, operator handle, suction cup and vacuum generator.
It can pick up cardboard boxes, metal goods or sacks
from pallets that are close to the ground while the user stands upright. Its modular system is based on the JumboErgo and Sprint vacuum tube lifters.
Schmalz has equipped the Jumbo Low-Stack with a new release function that removes the residual vacuum between the gripper and the workpiece. It means the user can now release the suction cup from the workpiece without any extra force.
The Jumbo Low-Stack also features a lift tube which contracts and extends when lifting and lowering the load, with a stroke range of 1400 to 800 millimeters.
As part of the jumbo family, the new Low-Stack product is set to provide ergonomic solutions for frequent and fast lifting during machine loading, in shipping and within commissioning areas.
