          ONROBOT INTRODUCES EYES VISION SYSTEM
OnRobot has launched a new vision system for robotics called Eyes. It
provides 2.5D vision that can give robotic arms depth perception and parts recognition abilities. OnRobot said Eyes offers seamless integration, one-picture calibration, intuitive programming, and is simpler than existing vision systems.
Eyes can be mounted on both the robot wrist or externally, making it useful for many unstructured applications in need of vision guidance.
OnRobot CEO Enrico Krog Iversen said, “A significant part of our customer base does not want to be
tied to a fixed incoming position of a product they want to pick. They would love to eliminate complicated, bulky
and expensive part feeders and fixtures to achieve this, but until now, vision systems have felt out-of-reach. Our new Eyes vision system changes all that.”
Eyes integrates with all leading collaborative and light industrial robot arms through OnRobot’s One System Solution, a unified mechanical and communications interface based on the company’s Quick Changer, now an integrated part of all OnRobot products.
OnRobot is present in Australia through its distributor partners: APPMA members Australis Engineering, Diverseco and Scott Automation and Robotics, as well as Mobile Electrics, Collaborative Robots Australia and Auto Controls Systems.

SLEEK AND FUNCTIONAL: AXELENT’S X-GUARD CONTOUR
Axelent Australia offers a machine guarding solution with round corners: the Axelent X-Guard Contour. It is part of a range that is easily configurable to adapt to all possible machine guarding needs for any facility.
Axelent sales director Drew Hoxey said the machine guard offers a sleek and functional design.
“The X-Guard Contour was the market’s first machine guard with 90-degree corner angles that offer round corners on the guarding,” Hoxey said.
“This feature ensures that the X-Guard Contour is an ideal solution for confined areas within a production environment or narrow warehouse and has grown to be one of the most popular in the series.”
The X-Guard range is designed to ensure that the guarding fits easily and quickly around all types of machines and safety areas.
Hoxey said the solution’s X-Key is designed for quick panel release and ensures the user can re-configure the panels as equipment and demand on the facility grows and changes.
"The X-Key allows the customer to change the hinge and lock with a simple operation which means you can easily and quickly change the configuration of the machine guarding as and when the need arises,” he said.
Syntegon Technology and Swedish pulp and paper manufacturer BillerudKorsnäs have launched a joint system for Shaped Paper Pods.
The system is a combination of the TPU paper form, fill, and seal machine from Syntegon Technology and the BillerudKorsnäs 3D-formable FibreForm paper.
The Shaped Paper Pods system, Syntegon said, is ideal for product samples, inserts, refills, portion packs, and disposable packaging. It is also ideal for products that would usually be packed in blisters.
Syntegon said Shaped Paper Pods can be used to package dry, chunky, or viscous food, because the pods have a thin barrier layer.
The new TPU paper form, fill, and seal machine forms the environmentally friendly Shaped Paper Pods with a filling volume ranging from just a few millilitres up to 100ml. The FibreForm paper is shaped by air pressure and embossed by press force. The machine has an output of up to 15,000 Shaped Paper Pods per hour.
Using heat-sealing technology, the Shaped Paper Pod can be sealed with any heat-sealable lidding materials. Barriers can be customised to customer needs.
In Australia, Syntegon Technology is represented by Nupac. (The Kliklok division of Syntegon is represented by PerForm Packaging Solutions.)
