British packaging innovator comes to Australia
UK-BASED packaging development-to-manu- facture company Sirane is expanding into Australia, and will have a stand at AUS- PACK 2019 in March.
Based in Melbourne, the Australian office will add to Sirane’s operations in the UK, South Africa, Poland, Mexico and Russia. AUSPACK (stand A226) will be its first exhi- bition in Australia.
According to Simon Balderson, manag- ing director of Sirane Group, the move has long been in the works. “We have been looking at Australia for a while now, and the time seems right,” he said. “We’ve a strong team in place, and they are already starting to generate some serious interest in Sirane,” he said.
“Many of our food packaging products, such as absorbent pads and cooking bags, have potential the world over, particularly in a developed market like Australia.”
Sirane’s plastic-free Earthpouch packaging has picked up several sus- tainability awards, and is one of a range of environmentally-friendly packaging solutions that will be available in Australia once Sirane opens its doors.
“We anticipate – and indeed already have – a lot of interest from Australia in our various compostable and plastic- free packaging solutions, as eco-friend- ly packaging is important there, just as it is here in the UK,” said Balderson.
“But there’s also likely to be strong interest across all our food packaging ranges, especially from food producers, packers, and from the large retailers.” ■
