INTEGRATED PLASTICS PUSHES WORLD-FIRST PET INNOVATION
PKN bumped into David Ramirez, manufacturing manager at Integrated Plastics, on SDB’s stand (the company’s Korean licensee) who shared news of the internationally patented integrally moulded handle (IMH) PET bottle, a next-gen iteration of an IMH version first launched in 2006. This one is lightweight, fully recyclable, and delivers a “unique, ergonomic and environmentally sustainable bottle solution to beverage manufacturers,” Ramirez says.
One of IP’s major customers is
Tru Blu Beverages (TBB) – Austraia’s largest privately owned beverage manufacturer and Australia’s largest contract packer of non-alcoholic beverages. TBB markets a range of branded cordials packaged in the IMH PET bottle, and packs others under contract for major Australian FMCG retailers.
At ProPak Asia, Integrated Plastics was showing the bottle’s application for soy sauce and vinegar, and also for dairy products and processed juice. Ramirez says there is a lot of interest in the IMH PET bottle, driven by the trend away from hard-to-recy- cle plastics and the shortage of food-grade HPDE.
Ramirez said Integrated Plastics is looking for partners who would be interested in licensing the IP.
