 Residential Air Conditioning
Heat pumps reach Australian shores
LG ELECTRONICS AUSTRALIA has launched an innovative range of air-to-water heat pump solutions suitable for renovation projects and new home buildings.
The company announced it will offer the air- to-water LG THERMA V Monobloc heat pump range for the first time in Australia.
The LG Monobloc transforms energy from out- side air and water into useful heat that can be used for home heating and hot water systems, us- ing LG inverter and refrigerant technologies to de- liver water temperatures from 15C to up to 65C.
Andrew Barron, director of air conditioning solutions, LG Electronics Australia said the new LG Monobloc range showcases the best of what LG can deliver including fantastic technology with initiative controls for both both homeown- ers and installers.
According to Energy.gov.au, water heating is the second largest segment of Australian house- hold energy use, accounting for up to 27 per cent of home consumption depending on location.
The company announced Eckermann Heating & Cooling as its first Australian dealer who has trialed the LG Monobloc. LG will provide industry training to anyone in- terested in the product.
The new LG THERMA V Monobloc range is available in four models which offer efficiency, convenience, and easy control.
The models use R32 refrigerant technology and LG R1 Compressor to deliver energy effi- ciency, when compared to more traditional forms of heating. The compressor has an ex- tended operation range of up to 135Hz, with a design that lowers noise levels.

It is easy to use and install. For users, the in- cluded remote control offers various smart con- trol functions: the energy consumption can be monitored or adjusted at the touch of a button. With LG SmartThinQ, a smartphone app, a room can even be controlled from a distance.
LG Monobloc is a fully packaged piece of equipment, where the indoor and outdoor units are combined as one module. Therefore, there is no need for refrigerant piping work since the Monobloc unit located outside is connected only to water piping. Further, hy- dronic components such as plate heat ex- changer, expansion tank and water pump are included in the package. ✺
