ZARA DICKIE,
COMPASS, NSW – CLAIMS MANAGER Zara manages a team of 19 at Compass, the not at fault car replacement company. Zara has risen up the ranks from recover- ies, and accident management to claims. Zara and her team qualify the opportunity to place clients in cars by working with repairers, tow truck operators, insurance companies, dealerships, at fault and not- at-fault parties, as well as the sales and logistic teams at Compass. She has an in- credible knowledge of insurance compa- nies, motor vehicles and the law which en- sures her team is a high performing one.
She has been with Compass over 12 years and is a constant source of informa- tion about how things get done and sup- ports this with a real can-do attitude. No matter how busy she is, she always makes time to solve other people's problems, of- ten after hours. She is the go-to person for training new employees always happy to share her knowledge and expertise.
She was nominated by two of her col- leagues. Peter McLean says: “Every in- teraction I have with her, I find that I am better at my job as a result. Her custom- er service ethic, and knowledge of the industry make her invaluable. She pro- motesahigh-performanceculturewith- in her team by ensuring reward and ac- countability are applied.”
Zara has undertaken the Australian In- stitute of Management Leadership Course, as well as numerous training and develop- ment courses and is heavily involved in the netball community. She is an extreme- ly supportive boss, with a high drive to do
better tomorrow than she did today and this is the culture she embeds in her team. Rosh Golzar says: “She brings consist- ency to the role and puts the customer at the forefront of all conversations, espe- cially around improvement, process, cus- tomer journey and experience. She is a brilliant manager and colleague and goes
above and beyond for all our clients.
KIRSTEN DODD,
BASF NSW – MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS ANALYST
Kirsten is a passionate advocate and pro- moter of diversity and talent across the in- dustry. She does this, in part, by engaging deeply with schools and TAFEs in their open days. Kirsten works closely with po- tential contenders in the WorldSkills are- na, assisting and preparing them for the media requirements that come with their nominations and then in providing broad- er support on their journey.
Kirsten has been with BASF for nearly 20 years. During this time she has come to know many customers and their families, and it’s clear that she enjoys sharing cus- tomer and staff success stories through multiple communication channels.
Kirsten has been responsible for promot- ing BASF team members in trade publica- tions and BASF’s ‘People behind the brand’ campaignontheGlasuritFacebookpage.
Her nominator AMA’s Jim Lynch says: “We see her working tirelessly to bring positive change to the industry, particularly focusing on safety and sus- tainability challenges.”
Kirsten’s role has evolved during her time in the industry, and she has embraced this change, putting significant effort to-
ward her personal development. Kirsten has undertaken courses in project manage- ment and marketing as well as completing a Dale Carnegie training course, even be- coming a mentor for other students. In be- tween juggling the demands of a challeng- ing career, this dedicated mother manages to keep getting her three children, to their many sporting demands. And as if that isn’t enough, Kirsten is a member of Wom- en in Collision and Women in Automotive, and has been heavily involved with the Liv- erpool Netball Association, coaching many junior netball teams.
Kirsten forms an immediate and genu- ine connection with her peers, customers, and industry stakeholders and demon- strates her strong customer focus every day. She has an ability to understand what a customer needs and works diligently to find a solution for them. Thanks to her hard work and dedication, Kirsten has gained a huge amount of respect from within the industry, often being ap- proached by industry stakeholders for her insights, or to speak at industry events.
