Building Automation
WIRELESS SENSOR
Amerlux can now offer Delta Controls' (DCI) all-encompassing room controller, which allows occupants to take greater care of their work—by creating a room that automatically takes care of them.
The IoT-enabled O3 Sensor by Amerlux's sister company wirelessly detects motion, sound, light and temperature with pinpoint accuracy—right down to the surface of a table—from a single standalone room controller.
It can be ceiling-mounted to maximise functionality from the best vantage point of the room.
The company’s VP of marketing and product management, Bill Plageman, said the O3 Sensor automates comfort and productivity while decluttering walls of switches and thermostats.
"The premise that lighting should be independent of other building systems is changing fast—and we're leading the way by continuously thinking differently," Plageman said.
"Today, when you look around, everything is connected. With the O3 Sensor, lighting, security and HVAC now come together to automate comfort and productivity throughout a space. Amerlux and Delta Controls, are excited to serve as a vehicle for the future of building automation and smarter buildings."

Lighting the way to good health
AMERLUX HAS FORMED a partnership with Vyv, a health tech company whose signature continuous-use, non-UV antimicrobial light technology will be added into Amerlux's lighting fixtures.
The partnership represents a groundbreaking venture for Amerlux, which in recent months has sought to broaden its product portfolio in re- sponse to customer demand for lighting that can help clean environments.
Within 90 days, Amerlux will integrate Vyv's antimicrobial light technology into a variety of existing and new product lines.
The antimicrobial lighting targets microor- ganisms such as bacteria, fungi, yeast and mould while also meeting international standards for continual and unrestricted use around people, animals and plants.
Amerlux president & CEO, Chuck Campagna, said the company has joined the front lines in the fight to combat illness with this unprecedented technology.
"Lighting takes on a whole different dimen- sion as we integrate antimicrobial properties

into our fixtures to reduce the number of bacte- ria and other microbes we come into contact with on a daily basis,” Campagna said.
Utilising a spectrum composed of visible light, this proprietary technology works around the clock to fight off microorganisms by inhibiting their growth and ultimately destroying these mi- crobes.
It is ideal for high-traffic public areas where people congregate, such as airports, hospitals, hotels, gyms and schools. Independent third- party studies, along with research commis- sioned by Vyv, have shown a reduction of more than 90 per cent in surface contamination across these settings when used on a continual basis.
Commercial operations officer at Vyx, Kristin May, said the partnership will expand the avail- ability of its UV antimicrobial light technology.
Vyv's non-UV antimicrobial light works to ex- cite porphyrin molecules that are exclusively found in microorganisms. This, in turn, creates excessively toxic Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS), thereby stopping reproduction and killing these microorganisms.
Systemax sale to Carrier Global

CARRIER HAS ACQUIRED Systemax Pty Ltd, an Australian automated logic controls compa- ny operating in Queensland, the Northern Terri- tory and Papua New Guinea.
The acquisition expands Carrier’s global foot- print in building automation and controls in the Asia Pacific region.
Systemax will operate as part of Automat- ed Logic, which is part of the Carrier Global Corporation.
The managing director of Carrier Australia, Karl Boerner, said the acquisition aligns with Carrier’s growth strategy.
“It also complements the strengths of our products and services with Systemax’s strong, local presence and expertise in build- ing management system services to deliver complete building automation solutions to customers,” he said.
