Not only does Arnold undertake his own accident-related mechanical re- pairs but he also carries it out for a number of other RAC approved repair- ers in the area – giving him yet anoth- er profit avenue. It’s not just the bank account that benefits. “Cycle times are a key focus for us,” Arnold says. “Our goal is to minimise the incon- venience to the vehicle owner and re- duce the overall cost of having the ve- hicle repaired – which in the long term benefits the vehicle owner through a reduction or control of the premiums they pay.”
Arnold is one of the inner circle in the RAC repairer network. In nearly 10 years of editing this magazine I have never heard repairers speak of their re- lationship with an insurer in such warm and collaborate terms. RAC in WA appear to support their repair net- work and engender an attitude where the network genuinely wants to do the best for their work provider.
Having the right team is critical to success. “We strive to find people who fit within the business culture and hold the same values,” Arnold says. The team in on the road to I-CAR Gold and Arnold takes advantage of any training oppor- tunities from the business’ ‘technology partners’.
