Intelligent Series a no brainer for R22 replacements
AUSTRALIA'S HFC PHASEDOWN began in January 2018 and includes the replacement of R22 systems with low GWP alternatives.
And while it has been a fairly smooth transition for Australia's HVACR industry to date, there have been some difficult changeovers, according to Tony Power, technical director at Polaris Technologies.
“R22 retrofits have been difficult to achieve because the only real option is to replace entire systems,” Power said.
“We are providing a much better option which simply involves replacing the outdoor unit.
“The pipe work and indoor unit can remain at its current location, no mess.
“The technology is patented and very efficient saving time and costs for the installer.”
By using inverter technology with a hydrocar- bon refrigerant, Polaris Technologies can deliver
a highly efficient system with energy savings of up to 50% compared to old R22 units. “With the Polaris Intelligent Series there is no need to replace the indoor units which means no
messy building works,” Power said.
“Indoor unit replacement is generally the
main problem with R22 HVAC systems be- cause they are often built into the ceiling or roof space creating huge costs for owners.
“Often similar configuration units are just not available and that's when costs really start to add up.”
Power said the Polaris systems are supplied with a new indoor control panel and wired touch pad.
“These systems are extremely easy to install with many installations across Australia prov- ing to be reliable workhorses,” he said.
The units are available in 10 kW to 16 kW.
