Dancerhythmics
“A Rainbow of Rhythmic Dance”
A Dance Therapy program for senior citizens. The colours of the rainbow are known to
everyone everywhere. The order of the rainbow colours provides a natural scale for separate categories of movement and for the individual dance ‘steps’ within each category. The unique rainbow foundation ensures a friendly format easily understood by senior groups of all ages regardless of language or cultural background. DanceRhythmics transforms a technical dance program into a simple to follow rainbow of scaled movement. The syllabus is ideal for teachers or dancers wishing to transition to working within the community of health organisations. Natural movement. (Incorporating both classical and modern theatre dance influences)
GRADING SYSTEM
5 structured Levels scaled from Elementary to Advanced (each level uniquely explores one basic category of movement)
ASSESSMENT
The dance movements within each level are scaled and are sympathetically matched to appropriate musical tempos. The teacher is responsible for assessing the progress of the clients.

Southern Federation
Of Dance
The Southern Federation of Dance (SFD) was formed in 1986 by a group of Victorian teachers who wanted to create a jazz syllabus that would be examinable and cover all the elements of jazz technique. Following its successful introduction, the SFD organizers then approached classical ballet and tap experts to produce syllabuses in those styles. Next, they developed a highly regarded Teaching Certificate Course. This comprehensive course has proven itself to meet the needs of the future generation of teachers. Over the years the membership in Victoria steadily expanded. The SFD is now active in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia.
