SHOWCASE
Award winners on show at Air Change
NOT JUST FOR DEHUMIDIFICATION, THESE NEW UNITS ARE CAPABLE OF HANDLING ANY TEMPERATURE CONTROL SITUATION.
THIS 18-year old company has continuously won awards for its dehumidification product range. Now, along with the recent acquisition of Dunnair, 2018 is shaping up to be no different.
The launch of the Air Change ACDHUM-LD unit had already been awarded the AIRAH Award for product excellence when it won this year’s ARBS product excellence award.
The low dewpoint dehumidifier dehumidifies air to below 3.5° Celsius dew point conditions utilising patented heat exchange technology and sophisticated evaporator pressure controls to achieve supply air conditions that would normally require the use of desiccants. This provides higher efficiency coefficients of performance and reduced maintenance costs in a compact footprint.
The ACDHUM-LD application is most suited to: supermarkets, cooler rooms, cold storage and process rooms. A DX packaged unit handles 200 to 5000 litres per second and its chilled water unit operates at 200 to 6000l/s.
The specialised ACDHUM range is designed to provide a more energy efficient and cost effective solution for handling high latent loads. The system is an ideal solution for situations where exhaust air cannot be recovered or used due to spill air contamination, building pressure
requirements or the practical constraint of recovering exhaust air.
Although it has been designed for hot and humid environments the ACDHUM has shown it can be effectively used all year round due to a reverse cycle capability providing efficient operation in heating mode.
The Air Change precise control (PCU) models allow the user to control temperature and humidity at close tolerances using its heat

exchange technology to provide savings both in cost and maintenance.
The PCU is ideal in situations where both temperature and humidity must be constant: pharmaceuticals, laboratories, data centres or cool rooms, for example.
The object of the PCU range, as with all of Air Change’s dehumidifiers, is to deliver air at the specified temperature and humidity using the lowest possible energy consumption. Its designs
use a ‘cool and reheat’ principle rather than desiccant dehumidification because in most circumstances, this is the more energy efficient and convenient method of delivering air humidity and temperature control. Eliminating the need for high temperature regeneration air lowers the energy consumption and eliminates regeneration air ductwork giving more flexibility to the system designer.
The Air Change range of PCUs are grouped into three distinct categories working between 500 to 4000 litres per second: PCU-N where there is no spill air and plant room space is restrictive; PCU-E for applications that have spill air available to allow precooling and dehumidifying; PCU-S for applications with no spill air but can accommodate heat exchangers to precool and reheat the air to reduce refrigeration cooling capacity.
When available, chilled water is the sole or partial cooling source to minimise the refrigeration capacity of the PCU.
All of Air Change’s units use the latest developments in algorithmic functionality, variable speed and inverter drives, compressor and refrigerant control technologies and EC fans.
The added bonus of the Air Change stand at ARBS 2018 was its extensive corporate- coloured green and white lolly bar, providing that sometimes needed sugar hit to jaded visitors and exhibitors alike. www.airchangedehumidification.com.
