   RISING STAR (UNDER 30 YEARS OLD)
SAMANTHA ROALD OF ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVY
Samantha was seconded to the LHD TaRP team during the second half of 2019. As one of her many contributions, Samantha played a key role in a technical investigation of fuel contamination issues experienced by the Canberra class LHD since commissioning. As a result of this investigation the LHD now has standing orders regarding DFM management. These orders have seen a significant improvement in LHD fuel quality. In addition, Samantha took the lead in design, installation and commissioning of a fuel discharge point for LHD class.
 KEREN REYNOLDS OF BAE SYSTEMS
Chartered in both Mechanical and Systems Engineering, Keren leads a team responsible for all hardware activities supporting the Nulka product. Throughout 2019 Keren coordinated engineering efforts required for two complex technical investigations to support the Nulka Program. Her recent research into additive manufactured metallic materials focuses on exploitation of geometric and anisotropic properties for mechanical application and has generated much interest for both commercial industry and within defence.
 AMY STRINGFELLOW OF DEFENCE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY GROUP
Amy is a Defence Scientist specialising in Cyberwarfare research. Working with an international team of scientists, Amy’s research in natural language processing and automated military workflow modelling has contributed to the state-of-the-art in Cyber Mission Assurance technology. By sharing her experiences Amy inspires young women and girls to consider Defence careers in STEM, and outside of work is an accomplished Highland and Irish dancer.
 CAPTAIN JORDYNNE WINSOR OF AUSTRALIAN ARMY
In 2019, Jordynne was deployed to the UNMISS Mission Joint Operations Centre. Her overall performance whilst deployed OP ASLAN was excellent, demonstrating all the characteristics and traits indicative of a high- quality combat officer. Her command style, dedication and drive are rare, and she demonstrated significant professionalism, military ethos, and capacity for work. She was held in very high regard by those who served with her, was trusted, forthright and never afraid to standby her convictions. She is a genuine leader of officers and soldiers, exhibiting a strong command presence, an authentic and unpretentious participative style and a well-developed tactical mind. Her approach set a tone of competence and optimism well suited to coaching and mentoring, and when required was clear and decisive.
 MARGUERITE TAYLOR OF TAE AEROSPACE
Marguerite completed a dual Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)/Science (Physics) in 2016. As a R&D Engineer at TAE Aerospace, she has played integral roles in the introduction of fuel additives for Gas Turbines to provide improved engine performance, fuel economy and environmental impacts; recommending new repairs for AGT1500 engines in the Australian Army’s M1A1 Abrams Tanks and analysing and making recommendations to maximise operational availability for the RMAF’s F/A-18 Hornet aircraft.
 GENEVIEVE STEEL OF BECA
Genevieve Steel, Senior Project Manager - Defence and National Security, joined Beca after eight years of service as a marine technician, from the Royal Australian Navy. Since then she has had a major impact on the success of the programs and projects on which she works, while being an active member in the Defence industry, joining The Future Through Collaboration Program in 2019. She works inside Beca’s Defence and National Security Project Management office and is currently seconded to Seaworthiness Materiel Assessment Management (SwMA) Services with the RAN.
