Record number of WorldStars for ANZ companies
Currie Group has picked up a WorldStar award for the #rhinosdownunder packaging print project featured on PKN.
THE 2020 WorldStar Packaging Awards winners have been an- nounced, with a record eleven Australian and New Zealand companies to be recognised for packaging innovation across six categories at a gala ceremo- ny during interpack 2020.
The prestigious WorldStar Packaging Awards program is run by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO). Judging took place in Indonesia in No- vember where representatives from 36 packaging associa- tions, all members of WPO, as- sessed 321 packaging projects from 36 countries.
The ANZ contingent of win- ners combined received the third highest number of World- Star Packaging Awards behind Japan and China.
Commenting on the record win, Nerida Kelton, execu- tive director of The Austra- lian Institute of Packaging, said: “This is incredible rec- ognition for the annual Pack- aging Innovation & Design
(PIDA) Awards program, which is the exclusive feeder program for the two coun- tries into the WorldStar Pack- aging Awards.”
The 2020 WorldStar Packag- ing Award winners for ANZ are Currie Group; Danone ELN NZ Supply Point; Hazeldene’s Chicken Farm and Sealed Air; Impact International; Moana New Zealand and Sealed Air; Nulon Products Australia and Caps & Closures; Oji Fibre So- lutions; Pact Group; Punch- bowl Packaging; Stay Tray; and Woolworths.
Additionally, Plantic; Wool- worths; Pact Group; and Ha- zeldene’s Chicken Farm and Sealed Air were nominated for special awards.
The Australia and New Zea- land winners will be presented with their trophies at the 2020 WorldStar Packaging Awards at interpack in Düsseldorf, Germany on 8 May.
