P. 7
The people who come to the church building to worship are the church, the living body of
Christ. The church is the congregaon the living community of people trying to follow
Jesus, to discover Jesus and to learn more about him and to encourage and support each
other. We open the Bible, we read God’s word and we try to let it direct our lives. The
words on the page become alive in us as we live together and love together. Jesus is not
just an historical treasure, the word of God is not just an historical arfact, it is the living,
loving and inspiring word that can and does offer hope in a world that is crying out for it.
Let us not just cherish these old books and cherish our historic buildings. Let us open them
up and become part of the living loving inspiring word and come and be part of a
community that cherishes each other…aer all the Bible speaks to every age including this
one.
