It is a matter of great pride that for the past two and a half decades, Annai

Velankanni Matric. Hr. Sec. School has done commendable service in dispensing an

excellent education to thousands of children in and around Coimbatore. It is one of the

prominent and most sought-after senior secondary schools in Coimbatore imparting

quality education at an affordable cost to economically backward people. Our vision

‘Educate, Enlighten and Empower’ has been tested over the last twenty-five years and

has proved to be effective and successful time and again, accepted and appreciated by

the community. The school, then had a humble beginning in 1995 with merely 15

students, today has got more than 2000 students and 100 staff on roll. Every year we

are getting a number of new admissions which give us new vigour and spirit in our

responsibilities.

As we complete twenty-five years of yeoman service, what comes to my mind is

that ‘Success comes to those who work hard and stays with those who do not rest on the

laurels of the past.’

We live today in a world that is so very different from the one we grew up in, the

one we were educated in. The world today is changing at such an accelerated rate and

we, as educators, need to pause and reflect on this entire system of education. Are our

schools well equipped to prepare our children to face the challenges that the future holds?

The above-mentioned question is the factor that motivate us to go through a continuous

process of reflection and hence we at AVM. Hr. Sec. School work at implementing a

well-balanced curriculum to ensure that the children who walk into the portals of our

school will not just love their school years but truly be prepared to face life’s challenges.
