It was Margaret Mead who said, “Children must be taught how to think, not

what to think.” Aristotle once said, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is

no education at all.” Even as we impart education to match the advancement in

technology and globalization, we march our children ahead with AVM’s ethos of moral

values and principles. We pride ourselves to help them grow and develop into sensitive

and responsible citizens of the future.

We fortunately have committed and supportive management and dedicated

teachers, caring and co-operative parents which blend harmoniously to create a child-

centric school at AVM. Hr. Sec. School. It is natural to find in this ambience, intensive

use of a variety of thinking, activities, strategies and group dynamics so that the class

rooms become active.

This Silver Jubilee Souvenir is a milestone that marks our growth, unfolds our

imaginations and gives life to our thoughts and aspirations. It unleashes a wide

spectrum of creative skills ranging from writing to editing and even in designing the

souvenir. I congratulate the entire Editorial Team for their hard work and dedication

that has resulted in the publication of this souvenir.

My sincere thanks to all the staff, parents, alumni and students for their

meritorious cooperation. Finally, I thank the Almighty for the showers of blessings

upon our school for all these years. May god continue to bless us all and may Our Lady

of Good Health, Patroness, intercede for us. I wish, we, every child of Annai

Velankanni, be like the Morning Star radiating love, peace and hope in this troubled

world.
