Rationale
The School Governance Council of Ilocos Norte Regional School of Fisheries
functions as a structure for shared governance and a feedback mechanism for all the
significant programs, projects, initiatives and other equally important activities. It serves
as an overarching consultative and coordinating body for all committees, associations,
and organizations in schools.
Through the School Governance Council, the school demonstrates commitment to
collaborative governance, student-centered decision-making, continuous improvement,
stakeholder empowerment, and transparency and accountability.
The council aims to harmonize stakeholders’ engagement in the fulfillment of the
following: making the curriculum relevant to produce competent, job ready, active and
responsible citizens; taking good care of learners by promoting learner well-being,
inclusive education, and a positive learning environment; taking steps to accelerate
delivery of basic education facilities and services; and giving support to teachers to
teach better.
Objectives
INRSF School Governance Council plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and
relevance of educational programs and activities. Specifically, the council adheres to
meet the following objectives:
ensure compliance with Department of Education (DepEd) policies and guidelines,
facilitate collaborative decision-making among stakeholders, ensuring diverse
perspectives,
contribute to policy formulation, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements,
help optimize resource utilization, aligning expenditures with school goals and
priorities,
foster parental engagement, ensuring their concerns and suggestions integrated into
school policies,
promote teachers' participation providing valuable insights into curriculum
implementation and student needs, and
promote inclusive practices, addressing diverse student needs that focuses on
student achievement, well-being, and development
promotes collaborative governance, leading to improved
educational outcomes.
