Hi,

Two live events for your eyes this week – two in the same day, in fact! I’m not sure when I was last
able to do that, probably in 2019, but seeing Mischa & Lily Maisky live at the Wigmore Hall, followed
by the Royal Philharmonic Society Awards at the same venue, was a real treat.

I’ve also got a quartet of fine new albums for you to get your ears around, and a quick dip in the
waters as the Beethoven odyssey resumes.

Just a few hours later I was back on the other side of the Wigmore Hall, taking in the Royal
Philharmonic Society Awards. This was an incredibly inspiring event, bringing together professional
and amateur musicians and celebrating their achievements of making music – somehow – during a
global pandemic. A humbling experience indeed:
