American jazz guitarist Pat Martino has died at the age of 77 as a
result of a long illness. He began his career as a guitarist in his teens as a
rock'n'roll player, but soon focused on jazz. In 1980, when he was already

famous for jazz, Martino suffered an analgesia in his brain that caused
amnesia, and he had to learn his guitar playing and music repertives

entirely from scratch, managing to return to the level required for an
international career.
