and thick darkness the people;
but the Lord will rise upon you,
and his glory will be seen upon
you. And the nation shall come to
your light, and the kings of the

brightness of your rising
Darkness is for lying down,
light is for rising. Darkness is
used to express gloom, being lost,
evil, etc. Light is for shining,
truth, freedom, etc. today, the
world is living in darkness, and
not just darkness, but moving
closer and deeper into gross
darkness. We live in a world of
technology yet use most of it for
the wrong things. We have not
only adults, but youngsters
addicted to pornography,
demonic practices, drugs, alcohol,
all leading deeper into the
darkness.
But thank God, His light is
not an earthly light, but is a light
that emanates for the Glory of
the Lord. It is a light that is not
harsh or frightening, but a light
that is warm pulsating from God
Himself desiring to lead you out
of the darkness.
Defining moment #2. Authority.
Luke 10:19-20. The Passion
translation puts it like this; Now
you understand that I have
imparted to you all my authority
to trample over his kingdom. You
will trample upon every demon
before you and overcome every
power Satan possesses. Absolutely
nothing will be able to harm you

as you walk in this authority.
However, your real source of joy
isn’t merely that these spirits
submit to your authority, but
that your names are written in
the journals of heaven and that
you belong to God’s kingdom. This
is the true source of your
authority.
What an awesome promise
that is. The authority that he has
given us to trample over the
enemy’s kingdom, to trample
ever demon under our feet, to
overcome everything safely in
assurance that he cannot hurt us
because we walk in His
authority. But look at the verse
before which shows the real
source of joy is not merely that
evil spirits submit to our
authority, but that our names
are written in the lamb’s book of
life and the journals of heaven.
That is the true source of
authority because of Who is in us.
