Publisher’s Note
We Always Get Our
Man (or Woman) …
As anyone who has ever turned on a TV and
watched Law and Order knows, the beginning
of each episode begins with the disclaimer:
“The following story is fictional and does not
depict any actual person or event.” Well, this
Publishers Note has NO such disclosure — I
confess, I really did this!
In these days of a “careful” economy and
tight wallets, Carol and I pride ourselves on
going the extra mile for all of our readers and
advertisers. While I try to make sure the word
gets out about SFHN&HR and
CannabisNewsFlorida, by connecting clients,
supporting worthy causes, and trying to be in a
million places at one time, Carol makes sure we
actually have articles to publish and websites to
post. (For some reason, Carol always has felt
my inability to spell “cat” precludes me from that side of things.) But, recently,
she needed my outside assistance in corralling a willing but recalcitrant intervie-
wee, who for the purposes of anonymity, shall be called Bob.
You see Bob was going to be an important interviewee for one of our future
articles and Bob was now known around Carol’s desk as The Great Procrastinator.
Although a self-professed willing participant, Bob was constantly rescheduling
telephone interviews. Well, in Carol’s world, once is understandable, twice forgiv-
en, but three strikes …
So, Carol decided it was time to launch her secret weapon, in short her “hired

and strict instructions not to return without Bob’s responses.
And as instructed, I planted myself in front of Bob’s
desk and came away with the goods.
So what are the morals of this story? 1. Like the
Royal Canadian Mounties, we always get our
man; 2. Like Avis — we try harder; and 3. You
can run, but you cannot hide from Carol.
