The Value of Playing Golf
October 3
Health Information
Like most other non-profit organizations, members are looking for value to result from Technology Committee
their investment of dues and sponsorship dollars. And, like these other non-profit organ- Meeting: Virtual Reality
izations, we are trying to tie our events to meeting this value proposition. Applications & Innovations
November 4th will find the staff of the SFHHA at the Lago Mar County Club for our
27th Annual Golf Tournament. Our golf tournament meets many of these value goals. October 17
First, it provides an opportunity for our membership to build relationships outside the Educational Roundtable:
four walls of our institutions. In this non-threatening environment, unless you are any- Canada Day
where around me when I tee off, we are able to facilitate conversations across our mem-
bership classes about issues of importance to our members. November 4
Eligibility, insurance denials, accounts receivable, new accounting rules, building for the Jaime Caldwell 27th Annual Golf
future, price transparency, houses, kids, clubs, these conversations are a first step toward Tournament at Lago Mar
building long lasting relationships. I think most members will acknowledge that to do business in South Florida, you must have a Country Club
presence and there must be someone in this market to build these relationships. This is a great event to start that journey.
The second value that comes from our golf tournament is that the net proceeds support our educational foundation. National November 12

nology are all funded using these proceeds. Our educational programs, because of the support from our Foundation, have been FIU Main Campus
impactful and timely (price transparency, Triple Aim, Future of Healthcare, etc.).
And, I guess a third value is that our golf tournament is just a fun event. This year we have three committees assisting us in putting December 5
this tournament together. We have our Sponsorship Committee chaired by James Sturgis, VP, TD Bank, Auction/Prize Committee 5:30 – 8:30 pm
chaired by Mike Roffelsen, CEO, Encompass Sunrise, and our Games Committee chaired by Joe Stuczynski, CFO Memorial South. Annual Meeting and Dinner
About 20 of our members volunteered to be on our golf committee and their single focus is to make this event one of the best … Signature Grand
ever.
Did I talk to you about building relationships as one of our value propositions, well, working with hospital and healthcare exec-
utives over two months times has really opened my eyes to the degree of that relationship-building value. We have shared much,
and a lot about whiskey tasting, worked hard, and we have fun on every call and at every meeting.
Are you looking to be part of this family?
