GREATER MIAMI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 2017 HEALTH CARE HEROES ®
May 9, 2017
TO HEALTH CARE HEROES SUPPORTERS: JUDGES
This marks the 20th anniversary of the celebration of the Greater Miami Jaime Caldwell
Chamber of Commerce’s Health Care Heroes in our community. Issues President
involving access, delivery, the quality of the health care and services available South Florida Hospital & Healthcare
to our citizens remain ongoing challenges. However, the Health Care Heroes Association
is intended to recognize those individuals and organizations that do not just
provide excellence in their chosen areas, rather Health Care Heroes recognizes those who have gone above and beyond in order Ann-Lynn Denker, PhD, ARNP
to contribute to the overall health of the South Florida community. The event will celebrate the extraordinary efforts of those who Chief Clinical Officer
have been recognized over these past two decades. Plaza Health Network
Currently, we are in the midst of private, state, and federal efforts to restructure both the manner in which health care and serv-
ices are delivered and reimbursed. It is difficult to accurately predict what those efforts will ultimately yield. Two things we can say Christopher Dudley, MBA
with some assurance, however, are: (1) The health care industry will continue to be a major component of the national economy, Principal/CEO
as well as that of South Florida; and (2) those individuals and businesses that qualify as Health Care Heroes will continue to be Advancement Associates Inc.
leaders in our local health care industry and community.
At the 20th Annual Health Care Heroes luncheon we will be honoring the achievements of physicians, nurses, researchers, Kevin N. Fine, MHA
institutions, volunteers, and others who have contributed to the health care delivery system and overall welfare of South Florida Director, Healthcare Advisory Services
and its citizens. Also, for the 20th consecutive year AXA Advisors will be the Chamber's partner in this program. It is joint efforts, Kaufman Rossin
like the Chamber AXA partnership that will continue to strengthen and grow our health care community.
Every year the number of nominees in various categories, their qualifications, and contributions to our community increases. Stacy Kilroy, MBA
As a consequence, the selection committee's job of winnowing it down to three finalists in each category, Director,
and identifying just one winner, becomes more difficult. This presents a challenge for our judges, who give Planning & Government Relations
generously of their time. It also is as it should be; the Health Care Heroes nominees, finalists, and honorees Mount Sinai Medical Center
demonstrate that the bar for everyone in this industry is continuously being raised.
