Prior to joining TFPS and the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute, Dr. Shufflebarger
served as Chief of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, then Director, Division of
Spinal Surgery at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, formerly known as Miami Children’s
Hospital. Dr. Shufflebarger is currently a distinguished clinical professor in the
Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Miami School of
Medicine, located in Miami, FL. Dr. Shufflebarger was named the President of the
Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) in 1999, a distinction he held after serving several dif-
ferent roles within the organization from 1993-2006. He received the Lifetime
Achievement Award from the Scoliosis Research Society in 2016.
Aaron Huser, D.O., an orthopaedic surgeon and limb deformity specialist, has also
opened his practice at the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute in West Palm Beach.
Prior to joining TFPS and the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute, Dr. Huser worked
as a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul,
MN.
For his education and training, Dr. Huser completed a fellowship in limb deformity at
Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute (2017-2018) and a pediatric orthopaedic fellowship
at Washington University and St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Huser
finished his orthopaedic surgery residency and served as Chief Resident at Rowan
University and Inspira Health Network located in Vineland, NJ. He completed his intern-
ship at Michigan State University and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton
Township, MI. Dr. Huser graduated medical school from Midwestern University and
Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine located in Downers Grove, IL.
