“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom,
strategy address it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of
incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the
spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”
new healthcare - Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities
As I write this the last notes of 2020 fade and like all of us, our welcome
realities? mat is out for 2021. While our winter will continue to be a tough one, I see
a glimmer of light. Two vaccines have been approved and their distribution
started, while a second stimulus package (such as it is) is on the horizon.
But for all this good news, we still have a monumental mountain of crowded
hospitals, many friends lost to the Coronavirus, burnt-out healthcare work-

It’s times like these I realize how lucky Carol and I are to get to do life together with Gabby and keep each other going.
Like everyone else, we’ve rarely seen family or friends in the past 10 months, and with the exception of my ubiquitous
SFHN&HR and Cannabis News Florida Zoom meetings, contact with our partners and clients is limited to the other end of
the phone or computer monitor. But our thanks are still in order for all of your support in 2020. Because of our readers,
advertisers, SFHN&HR and CNF staff, we haven’t missed one print issue, e-newsletter posting or networking meeting on our
schedules.
But now on to 2021. How do we turn the page? We do it with small gestures of kindness and consideration, we do it by
taking one day at a time, remaining masked and rolling up sleeves when our vaccination time comes. We look forward to the
days when ICU bed shortages aren’t breaking news and our healthcare workers are no longer stretched to the point of break-
ing and beyond. When we’ll all be able to find “strength in what’s been left behind.”
I’m certain there will be a time in the not too distant future, when I’ll regale you again with my Best Buy escapades and
info@PiersonGrant.com Carol’s miserly idiosyncrasies. But for now, let’s all care enough to stay away from each other, wear our

help.
