            I met a little Elf    -man once




            Down where the lillies           blow.



            I asked him why he was so small,



            And, why he didn't grow.

             elf  – an imaginary dwarf (plural : elves),     frown – to crease your forehead when you are puzzled,
             lillies – a kind of flower (singular : lily),  through and through – all over; completely.
