At first, Rajesh ignored Sunil’s advice. But after a few days he began to think

about what Sunil had said. Then suddenly, he burst out crying. He realised

what he had been before. He resolved to change his ways. He knew it would be

difficult at first, but he was sure that he would slowly change for the better. There

he made a firm decision to be good.

The other boys were surprised to see that Sunil and Rajesh were not together

any more. They were still more surprised when Sunil and Rajesh suddenly

embraced each other with joy one day.

The boys were happy to see Rajesh taking part in a football match. He had

changed for the better. He was now kind and understanding and never used bad

          language any more.

In this story you see how Sunil fell into evil ways because of bad influence. On

the advice of his good parents, he began to change for the better. Because of

his prompt obedience God helped him, not only to be a good boy again, but
also gave him the inspiration to convert his friend from his bad habits.

Such stories are common in real life. Sometimes bad habits remain till the

end. They end with one person spoiling another for life, and thus causing

severe injury to the other person’s soul.

We can cause great spiritual harm not only by our bad example, but also by

carrying tales. These are bad habits which we must try our best to avoid.

Your parents teach you to be good and honest children; to love others and to
play without fighting or quarrelling. They correct you when you are in the

          wrong.

You too have a great responsibility for your younger brothers and sisters.

When you are asked to look after them, do not teach them anything wrong.

Set a good example, and help them to be good. In this way, we can avoid

spiritual harm to ourselves and others.
