19. Question Tags
A question tag is followed by a ? It is separated from the statement with the
comma. The Subject of the statement can be noun or pronoun but the subject of
a question is always a pronoun.
Read the below set of sentences.
Rohit is unwell. She doesn't eat chocolates.
Rohit is unwell, isn't he ? She doesn't eat chocolates, does she ?
Sometimes we change a statement into a question. Here the words, isn't he
and does she are used to change the statements into questions.
A positive statement takes a negative question tag.
For example : (i) You can sing, can't you?
(ii) The children are studying, aren't they ?
A negative statement takes a positive question tag .
