The Tortoises Trip

ere lived three tortoises; Father tortoise, Mother tortoise and

Baby tortoise in a tiny house of a city.

One ne day, Father tortoise said, “Let’s go for a picnic. I hear there

is a beautiful lake in Hyderabad called the Hussain Sagar lake.”

What a ne idea! said Mother tortoise. Hurrah! shouted Baby

tortoise. Let’s go at once! said Father Tortoise.

e three tortoises made some chapattis

and some tasty chutney. ey packed

the food into two small picnic baskets.

Come along Baby, she shouted, It’s

time to go. Where are you?

I’m in the kitchen, Mom, he replied.

“Well, bring the picnic baskets, and

hurry up,’ said Mother tortoise.

We’ve got a long way to go. We are

getting late. Come fast.”

Baby tortoise picked up a picnic basket and rushed out of the

kitchen. ey walked and walked and walked! Aer about ve

months, at 5 o’ clock one morning, the tortoise family stopped for a

shouted - to scream, rushed - to run in a hurry.
