baskets, but you only brought one. Why did you not bring the

chutney? I had some nuts in one hand, said Baby tortoise. ‘I didn’t

see the other.

He didn’t nish the sentence, but burst into tears. Now, now,’ said

Father tortoise. Don’t cry. Run back to the house and fetch the

chutney. You forgot to bring it, so you must fetch it.

Baby tortoise dried his eyes.
