Painters are entertainers of a different kind. They draw, paint or sketch beautiful images that
.
are a treat for our eyes Here we discuss about some painters who are legends.
1. Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) is the most famous and the
greatest of all Renaissance painters. He was also an artist, a
sculptor, an architect, an engineer and a scientist. His
innovations in the field of painting influenced the course of
Italian art for more than a century after his death. Among
his works, Mona Lisa is the most famous and The Last
Supper is the most reproduced religious painting of all time.
2. Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) was a Dutch post-impressionist
painter. In just over a decade, he created about 2100
artworks. They include landscapes, still lives and self-potraits
and are characterized by bold colours and expressive
brushwork. Irises and The Potato Eaters are today regarded as
the most valued paintings ever made.
3. Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) was a Spanish painter, sculptor
and designer and was one of the most famous, prolific and
influential artists of the 20th century. Picasso’s work is often
categorised into periods: the Blue Period (1901-1904), the
Rose Period (1904-06), African influenced period (1907-09),
the Analytic Cubism (1909-12) and Synthetic Cubism (1912-
