Instead of forcing Mahesh to sell, King Vikram

          respected his wishes. He decided to let the cottage

          stand as a reminder of justice and fairness. The king

          believed  that  everyone  should  be  treated

          equally and that their homes and possessions
          should be protected.


                  This act of kindness by King Vikram taught his

          kingdom  the  importance  of  respecting  others'

          feelings  and  treating  everyone  with  fairness
          and  dignity     .  It  showed  that  justice  and

          compassion were the true marks of a great ruler.
