The Selfish Fisherman
Get Connected Knowledge Acquisition
The selfish fisherman's plan to keep a big fish for himself led to trouble . His son's
quarrel with neighbours caused his wife harm, and he lost his sight while trying to get
the fish. This teaches us that being selfish can bring problems and sharing and
kindness are better.
In a village, there lived a fisherman named
Bhola who was very selfish and greedy. One day,
while he was fishing by the river, his fishing line
got caught on something. He thought it might
be a big fish, and he didn't want to share it with
his neighbours. So, he told his son to go home
and start a quarrel with the neighbours, making
sure they wouldn't ask about the fish.
The son did as his father said, and the
neighbours got upset. They took the matter to
the village chief, and the fisherman's wife joined
in by calling them names. As a result, she got into trouble and was beaten .
up
Meanwhile, the fisherman tried to retrieve the fish but ended up getting
blinded by the snag . He cried for help, but no one came to his aid. The fisherman
learned a valuable lesson about being selfish.
