You have already learnt that “A word, used in place of a noun, is

called a pronoun”.

The word ‘Pro’ means ‘for’. A pronoun is a word put for a noun.

1. Preeti is a good girl.

2. Preeti goes to school daily.

In the second sentence, instead of repeating Preeti’s name, we can

use she for her as a pronoun and write as follows :

Preeti is a good girl. She goes to school daily.

Preeti is noun and she is a pronoun.
