statement. Looking specifically at the role of a suite of products (sold under the
umbrella label of Oracle Projects), we do find a bridge between projects-oriented
data and the corporate operations data. Oracle Projects is their doorway into Ora-
cle Financials and other Oracle components, as shown in Figure 10.2a. By part-
nering with PMS vendors, they create a second doorway, which allows continuity
between projects and accounting data, with single entry. This is what people are
asking for when they talk about enterprise PM systems.

Tool Tip The discussion here on ERP/PM integration focuses
on a solution offered by two vendors, Oracle and Artemis. This
is only one of several offerings from many of the popular PM
and ERP vendors, and is used solely as a means to illustrate the
types of solutions that are available in this area. The mention
of any of these offerings does not constitute a vendor choice
by the author.
