While doing their mission in Guam to preach
Christianity among the Chamorro people through the
use of catechism, a Chinese immigrant named Choco
decided to make life more difficult for Pedro and his
companions as Choco began spreading that the Holy
Water that is being used for baptism could poison the
infants. Choco's gossips were further compounded
when many infants died after being baptized, that it
caused a ruckus and persecuted the missionaries.
