CEL aims to achieve its objectives via the following interventions:

• Training of students in the use of technology in learning.
• Training of academic and support staff with regard to current
technologies in Cybergogy, Paragogy & Heutagogy.
• Development, management and quality assurance of the
SMART2UMS learning platform.
• Development, management and quality assurance of Massive
Open Online Courses (MOOCs)
• Development, management and quality assurance of an
institutional OER repository
• Research and Development in the area of e-learning.
• Collaboration with national and international agencies on projects
related to e-learning.
• Development of mechanisms for the integration of conventional
and technology enhanced learning via credit transfers.
• Organizing competitive events to showcase innovations in e-
learning among the academic and student community of UMS
• Identification, acquisition and distribution of open source or
commercial software for the development of blended learning
and online learning platforms.
