                                                     Construction of Greers Ferry Dam began in March 1959 and was
                                                     completed in December 1962.  Aft er completion, the dam was
                                                     dedicated on October 3, 1969, by President John F. Kennedy.


                                                     Th e JFK Overlook provides visitors with a spectacular view of

                                                     Greers Ferry Lake and Dam, as well as the Little Red River.


                                                     Collins Creek, with an hourly fl ow of forty thousand gallons of 50
                                                     degree water from Greers Ferry Lake, provides a natural
                                                     hatchery for brook and rainbow trout.  It also hosts a natural

                                                     Th e Little Red River is one of Arkansas’ most popular fi shing
                                                     destinations.  Th  e tail water extends 32 miles, stocked with rainbow
                                                     trout, and is home to the record catch 40 pound, four ounce brown
                                                     trout.


                                                     Ruland Junction Toy Train Museum is housed in a replica of a

                                                     two-story old rural train depot.  Th  e interior houses a unique
                                                     collection of artfully displayed operating layouts, vintage display
                                                     cases, and toys collected over a half century by family members.

                                                     Th  e Cleburne County Historical Society & Museum contains the
                                                     society’s offi  ces, a museum and genealogy research library.  Th e

                                                     museum has a large collection of historical photos and artifacts, as

                                                     Th  e Mary I. Wold Cleburne County Library is the largest library
                                                     facility in the county and serves as headquarters.  Th e Cleburne
                                                     County Library houses over 25,000 printed items for adults, over
                                                     15,000 printed items for children, and over 4,000 audio/visual
                                                     materials.
