Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoli is a Col om bian singer L I S H
who was born in February 2, 1977. As a pop singer in
Colombia, her first album was “Magia” in 1991 meaning
magic in English, releasing a 2ª one in 1993 (“Peligro ),

then she participated in a Colombian soa p opera (El
Oasis). She returned to music with “Pies descalzos ”
(Barefoot), the album that explod ed the internet in
1995.
She is married with Gérard Piqué, a famous soc cer
player who has won several championships with a

worldwide Spanish soccer team called Barcelon a.
They have 2 children, Sasha Piqué Mebarak and Milan
Piqué Mebarak.
When her album “pies descalzos” gave her the chance
to make a little change in her country, she created the
Pies Descalzos Foundation, a Col om bian non -
governmental organization with the purpos e of

finding opportunities for children that are victims of
violence in the country. It was fou nded in the
Colombian Caribbean coast, in Barranquilla, and then
spread to other regions of the country. Its mission is to
provide the low-income population, displaced by

violence, with solutions in the areas of education,
nutrition and health.
