Communication
Communication is key for creating a cooperative and enjoyable experience between parents and the school. Brightwheel is a wonderful tool for keeping everyone connected. Position your app close to your text icon on your phone. Be sure to turn on notifications in your phone settings so that if the school sends an important message, you are alerted right away.
Communicate with Your Childʼs Teacher
Touch base often! Use Brightwheel to send a message directly to your child’s teacher by using the messaging feature. Click your child’s name, then click staff & admins, type your message, and click send.
Your message will only go to your child’s teachers and the office staff. This keeps us all informed!
Please use this feature for all information relating to your child, such as: asking questions, alerting us of child illness, absence because they are spending time with grandma, etc.
Note that teachers do not monitor their phones while actively supervising children. If your message is time sensitive, office staff will let the teacher know to check their messages right way.
Feel free to message your teachers between 7am and 6pm. Please refrain from messaging them late as you might disrupt their family’s evening routine or sleep. If you have something urgent, contact the
Head of School.
Communicate with Admin and Office Staff
If you wish to communicate with office staff without the teachers being notified, click on your child’s name, click Admins Only, type your message, and click send. Your message will only go to the admin staff.
Each classroom has a private Facebook page for Alden parents only where teachers post all the wonderful activities the children are enjoying.
Viewing the posts with your child is a great way to share their classroom experiences. Open Facebook and enter your child’s world. Ask them about their friends, Montessori lessons, teachers and all the beautiful work they are doing!
You may request admittance by searching for class names. Example: Alden Shetland Class
Note: Please do not use for parent to parent communication. Although, birthday party announcements may be posted. Remember, not all parents are on the Facebook page, so traditional birthday announcements are essential to ensure attendance of all their friends.
